1997 clutch problem - Jeep Wrangler Forum
I have a 1997 tj wrangler. I bought it used in 2010. It had an after market clutch on it (im pretty sure). Ive put on about 10k miles since ive bought it and i noticed that my release point on my clutch is now closer to the floor board and sometimes when i start my jeep (and even sometimes before) i cant take it out of gear or put it into one. ill have to turn off my jeep and force it out and then turn it back on and it will go into gear. then after it warms up a little it goes back to normal Second issue- My release point is almost to the floor board i only have to let my clutch out a few inches to catch where as when i bought it it was almost at the top. and today when i turned on my jeep it was already in neutral i released my e-brake and all the sudden i start rolling back. ( i never let off the clutch) i pressed the brake and released and it did it multiple times. I turned it off and put it in 1st and it started moving forward. I have a 1997 tj wrangler.
