1) Weezer
What you get when you mix a chili-off and the band known for his song "Pork and Beans"? Whatever the outcome, there's bound to be explosive. Long a cult film, nerdy rockers Weezer embarked on a new route last year leaving their major-label contract in favor of Epitaph Records punk-friendly.
They are sure to attract a crowd at DC 101 Beano annual bacchanalia headlining with alternative faves like Seether, Papa Roach and Panic at the Disco.
2) Kenny Chesney
Some of the best performances of countries in the summer is actually coming through Fredericksburg own Live Celebrate Virginia. However, Chesney fans will suffer from the peripheral circulation in Landover, Md., to hear him sing on his tractor sexy boys fall and everything else.
The reward for all the trouble to go to Redskins Stadium? Hands down one of chillest the "country" queues in history, including opens Zac Brown Band, Billy Currington and Uncle Kracker.
At least you'll feel "alive" during the long trip home.
3) Nicki Minaj / Britney Spears
If collapse queen Britney Spears has been good, she would choose a train-wreck even more of a can opener (think Whitney Houston) to make him appear slightly more stable.
Instead, Britney took Nicki Minaj, one of the most intriguing vocalists pop / hip-hop scene today, opening his "Femme Fatale" tour.
Trinidad-born Minaj, who was "discovered" by Lil 'Wayne, has attracted the attention of both bold and rhymes for his eccentric character (pink hair, multiple personalities and all).
Minaj may well overshadow the headliner if Britney drops his game - but somehow the end result is sure to be a spectacle.
4) Kid Rock Sheryl Crow /
When Crow and Rock released the duet "Picture" in 2002, it opened new musical horizons for both. The singer-songwriter LA and Detroit bad boy seemed to complement each other perfectly.
Yet it was difficult to imagine that the bases of the pair of fan base can find the same level of harmony together.Rock (not Bob Ritchie), who headlines the current tour, continued to redefine itself in the years from hard rock to a more mature, focused his country by more general appeal.
